About Linda Gates:

Linda Gates (Vocal Coach) has worked as a voice and dialect coach for theatre and film, both on and off Broadway, regional theatre, Germany and in England.   Her Chicago vocal coaching credits include: Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Goodman Theatre, Remy Bumppo Theatre Company, Writers Theatre, The Court Theatre, Organic Theater Company.  She has served as the English Diction coach for The Lyric Opera of Chicago and Chicago Opera Theatre.   Broadway credits include Macbeth, Heartbreak House with Rex Harrison, John Gabriel Borkman.  Off-Broadway credits include Dionysus in 69, Makbeth (The Performance Group). Regional credits include: The Milwaukee Rep, The American Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford, Connecticut, Yale Repertory Theatre, The Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.  She is Head of Voice for the Department of Theatre at Northwestern University and the author of Voice for Performance.
