Vowels and Diphthongs

This sound is lengthened from the initial sound in ‘end’ or ‘Edward’. Drop your jaw and spread you lips slightly and make the sound longer than normal

This sound is the same as in American English, but it is flat and slightly lengthened and the jaw is dropped slightly more

ɜː = ɛə (air)

This is the first middle vowel.  Be sure to always sound the r after it

Round the lips and put a slight iu in the sound.
